1. Introduction
Voice Memo for Work is an iPhone app that helps you record voice notes, transcribe them, and create AI-generated summaries and briefs for work. This Privacy Policy explains the information the app collects and how it is used.
2. Information We Collect
- Audio data: Audio you record is transcribed entirely on your device, using a speech-recognition system that is installed on the device on first launch. Audio is never sent outside your device and is never stored on the app's servers or any external API.
- Text data: Transcribed text and text you enter are sent to the Anthropic Claude API to generate summaries and briefs. If you turn on "On-device only" in Settings, no summarization or text cleanup is performed, and no text is sent externally.
- Image data: Photos you select are sent to the Anthropic Claude API to assist with creating reports. Photos are never stored on the app's servers.
- Saved records (transcripts, summaries, history): Generated transcripts, summaries, and history are stored on your iPhone. If your device is signed in to iCloud, they sync only across your own devices through Apple iCloud (a CloudKit private database). This data is never stored on any external server controlled by the developer.
- Purchase information: Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store / StoreKit 2. The app does not collect payment information such as credit card details.

- Transcribing audio (on-device)

- Assisting with creating reports that include photos
- Managing subscription status
4. Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party services:
- Anthropic (Claude API): AI processing of text and images (summaries, text cleanup, and report assistance)
- Apple (iCloud / CloudKit): Syncing and storing your records across your own devices
- Apple (StoreKit 2): Subscription billing
Because audio transcription is completed entirely on your device, audio data is never sent to any third party. We do not sell or provide your personal information to any third party other than those listed above.
